Petition to save forest reserve

MORE than 8,000 people have signed a petition against a proposal by the state government to degazette 28.3ha of land within the Bukit Lagong Forest Reserve in Gombak for a housing project.

The Save Bukit Lagong Forest Reserve petition, initiated a week ago by a group calling themselves Concerned Malaysians, is addressed to Selangor Mentri Besar Amirudin Shari and Selangor Forestry Department director Datuk Dr Mohd Puat Dahalan.
