Allaying fears about bypass

Stills from a video detailing the routes of the bypass at Green Lane (left) and an interchange near Perumahan Kastam in Jalan Bukit Gambir (right).

THE 5.7km bypass project linking Ayer Itam to Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway under the Penang Transport Master Plan (PTMP) has been strictly reviewed by independent bodies, said Zenith Group Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Fong Lai Kiat.

Fong said there was strong check and balance as the state had engaged the independent bodies to check on the project, dubbed Package 2 of the PTMP.
