Group to give out 200 setsof prosthetic legs next year

THOSE in need of prosthetic legs may apply for it from the Che Hoon Khor Moral Uplifting Society Penang in Jalan Macalister, George Town.

Some 200 sets of the artificial limbs will be given out by the society next year, thanks to the Protheses Foundation of Her Royal Highness The Princess Mother of Thailand.

Penang Deputy Chief Minister II Dr P. Ramasamy said for the programme, the society has committed to get the prosthetic legs done for free.

“Applications are ongoing now and will close on Jan 15.

“Forms can be obtained from the society at 360, Jalan Macalister,” he said during a press conference in Komtar.

Dr Ramasamy added that the fixing of the prosthetic legs would commence in May next year.

He hoped the noble move would benefit especially those from the lower-income group.
