THE inaugural Star Supa Comic, an event combining anime, cosplay and e-games, will be held on Dec 29 and 30.

The event organised by i.Star Events, a subsidiary of Star Media Group, with HELP University as the official education provider, will be held at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre, Kuala Lumpur.

HELP University matriculation centre senior lecturer R. Murali Rajaratenam said the university has much experience in events of this kind, thanks to its C2AGE (cosplay comics, anime and games exhibitions) that have been held for more than 10 years.

Murali, who will be one of four judges in the cosplay competition, said performers would be evaluated in terms of creativity, costumes, character-playing, audio and visuals.

“I emphasise more on character-playing because the originality of the anime characters can be brought out,” he added.

A team of five HELP university students will form a working committee for the event, allowing them to apply what they have learnt in the classroom.

Murali said the university was looking forward to more collaborations with i-Star so that the event can be expanded to other states in the future.

Tickets are priced at RM25 (one-day pass for early birds), RM45 (two-day pass for early birds), RM30 (one-day pass for walk-ins) and RM60 (two-day pass for walk-ins).

There is also a limited edition package, which includes a limited edition Star Supa Comic T-shirt, lanyard, folder and a two-day pass to the event.
