THE public will be able to keep tabs on their loved ones taking part in the upcoming Penang Bridge International Marathon (PBIM) through the new PBIM 2018 live tracking app.

The feature was introduced to provide real-time location of the runners at the Nov 25 event.

Penang Tourism Development, Heritage, Culture and Arts Committee chairman Yeoh Soon Hin said the mobile application would provide added peace of mind to those who are taking part with their family members and those who are waiting at home.

“We thank IJM for stepping up as a sponsor as the app will benefit more than 25,000 runners,” said Yeoh, who is also PBIM chairman.

The app is now available on IOS and Android for free and is sponsored by IJM Land Berhad in collaboration with the PBIM committee.

The app also gives the users access to PBIM updates including event programmes and course maps for full-marathon, half- marathon and 10km.

Users can capture special moments through selfies via the app with exclusive PBIM or IJM tiles which can be shared on social media or messaging platforms.

They can also match their outfits with PBIM merchandise and check out the mementos available online.
