OVER 1,200 runners turned up to show their defiance in the fight against cancer at the inaugural Warriors in Purple event.

Organised by Gleneagles Penang at Penang Municipal Park, the 7km run aimed to educate the public that cancer can be beaten and survivors can lead a normal and healthy life.
