Musical and exhibition fun for the whole family

JOHOR BARU: This year-end school holidays, visitors will be treated to new performances and attractions at Sanrio Hello Kitty Town and Thomas Town.

The programme features a magical musical extravaganza at the former and an exclusive showcase of 70 mini engines at the latter until Dec 31.

At Sanrio Hello Kitty Town, theme this season is “Come Out & Dance In Oz”, which is a nod to the classic, The Wizard of Oz, but with a Hello Kitty twist.

The Great Witch Musical features Hello Kitty as the heroine who travels the Yellow Brick Road with Scarecrow, The Tin Man and the Lion to Emerald City to save Land of Oz from chaos and destruction.

Young fans can also imagine their own adventures with the characters in games on-ground and on social media, or try their hand at different do-it-yourself activities with the chance to take home souvenirs they crafted themselves.

Over at Thomas Town, new railway adventures await young visitors, starting with story-telling sessions conducted by Terence S. Gill, who is back by popular demand.

Fans also get a chance to win Thomas & Friends-themed prizes by answering trivia questions and joining in on activities.

The adventure culminates with the “Mini & Mighty” exhibition, featuring 70m-high Thomas & Friends engines, including favourites Thomas, Percy, James and Gordon and themes such as Dino, Heroes, Robo and Metallic.

Fans can pose with their favourite engine and post the photo on the attraction’s Facebook page to win park passes and merchandise.
