RAKUTEN Trade Sdn Bhd will be hosting its next Rakuten Trade Expresso Workshop on Nov 14 for those who are new to or have very little experience in trading on Bursa Malaysia.
“We hold the workshops for potential investors to meet the people behind the Rakuten Trade brand, to learn more about our platform, understand how to read research reports and to hear our research team’s top stock picks for the coming month,” said Rakuten Trade Sdn Bhd managing director Kaoru Arai.
Hosted every six months, the coming workshop at Ruyi & Lyn in Bangsar Shopping Centre, Kuala Lumpur, is a collaboration with StarBiz Premium.
Those who register in advance will receive 500 Rakuten Trade points upon check-in as well as one-year free access to StarBiz Premium Plus which includes The Wall Street Journal and The Business Times Singapore (digital versions).
At the workshop, there will be stations for participants to open trading accounts with Rakuten Trade’s customer service personnel who will attend to any questions the participants might have.
Rakuten Trade which has been operating in Malaysia for almost a year and a half is the country’s first and only fully digital equities broker.
It holds a restricted Capital Markets Services Licence (CMSL) by Securities Commission to deal in listed securities and provide investment advice.

Rakuten Trade is a joint venture between Kenanga Investment Bank (Malaysia) and Rakuten Sec, Inc (Japan). It currently has more than 20,000 accounts and handled trades amounting to more than RM2bil since the business was launched last year.
The upcoming Rakuten Trade Expresso Workshop will be held in Miri (Nov 22) and Negri Sembilan (Nov 26).
