WITH a voice to be reckoned with even at 75, veteran club singer Colleen Read had the room cheering and singing along as she belted out classic numbers.
Going down memory lane, she shared her various career moves as she sang songs popular in those eras. She narrated how her career began when she quit school after Form Three to become a singer at the Green Parrot nightclub at the Jalan Kelawei-Jalan Bagan Jermal junction (now the Gurney Drive roundabout).
