Upbeat workout to stay in top form

MORE than 350 participants danced and grooved to upbeat music during the ‘Get Your Fit On’ event at Penang Times Square.

They danced to Konga and Zumba routine during a three-hour session led by dance instructors on stage.

Organised by the Lions Club of Tanjung Putri, the event was held to promote awareness of leading a healthy lifestyle.

Its assistant secretary and event organising chairman Belle Chan said according to statistics, diabetes is the eighth leading cause of death and it’s on the rise.

“As such, we need to promote a healthy lifestyle and create fitness routines for the public to keep fit,” Chan said.

After the dance sessions, Chan also presented RM2,000 to Diabetes Malaysia Penang branch treasurer Soon Bee Tin.

At the same event, a ‘Peace Poster’ contest was also held at the first floor of M Mall.
