Weighed down by abandoned projects

Some of the stalled development projects, such as this abandoned site in Taman Tasik Tambahan in Ampang, have become home to vagrants.

FOR almost two decades, K. Anakili, 34, and her family have struggled to own a home after their unit at a medium and low-cost flats at Bukit Rimau Indah, Section 32, Shah Alam, was declared an abandoned project.

For the past 16 years, she had to pay for the rental of her current house in Kampung Baru Hicom as well as service a housing loan for her uncompleted unit – all while surviving on a combined income of only RM2,575.
