The Oktoberfest protest that failed to take off

KUALA LUMPUR: After messages attributed to Kepong Umno circulated on Facebook and WhatsApp calling for a gathering at 2pm on Friday (Oct 19) to protest an 'Oktoberfest' event in Kepong, the police and press turned up and waited.

And waited. And waited.

Not a single protestor showed up.

And nobody caught a glimpse of anybody from Kepong Umno at Laman Rimbunan Kepong near the Yuen Long Temple.

When StarMetro arrived, several uniformed police officers and media members were waiting near a row of shophouses for the arrival of the group said to be headed by Kepong Umno chief Datuk Seri Rizuan Abd Hamid.
