KUCHING: Firefighters battled to put out flames from a “crashed” aeroplane as other emergency services personnel rescued “victims” in a full-scale disaster exercise at Kuching International Airport (KIA).

Conducted by Malaysia Airports in collaboration with various agencies, the exercise yesterday aimed to ensure KIA’s readiness to face disasters.
