VISITORS from near and far took the opportunity to enquire as much as they could on the various residential development projects exhibited during the last day of the StarProperty.my Fair 2018 in Queensbay Mall, Penang.
They went from booth to booth, checking out scale models of the projects while speaking to sales personnel from every developer before making an informed choice on their dream property.
Among them was retired supervisor S. Vivekananda, 63, who was spotted checking out a project exhibited by EcoWorld together with his family.
Vivekananda, who is from Sungai Petani, said he was looking for a house on the mainland for his son.
“We’re going from booth to booth to see which project suits us.
“We saw in the papers that there was this fair and came today to check it out. This is our second time coming to this property fair,” he said when met during the last day of the fair on Sunday.
Vivekananda said he was hoping to secure a corner lot landed property that is within the RM700,000 to RM800,000 price range.
“We’re still considering many factors, and location is one of them.
“We are not going to decide on buying today as we will need to go through all the projects after this,” he added.
His son V. Vishnu Varmah, 26, said he was looking to purchase his first home.
“It’s exciting to look for my first property but I also have to consider the budget aspect. Affordability and location are my top priority and concern.
“The prices of property are expensive these days so I might have to compromise and change my preference of property from landed to condominium instead,” he added.
Meanwhile, housewife Maria Zainudin, 37, said she was looking for a property in the Sungai Ara area.
“I have been staying in Sungai Ara since I was young, so I’m used to the lifestyle there.
“My family and I are currently renting an apartment in Sungai Ara. My three young children, aged between three and 13, are growing up fast so we would need a bigger place soon,” she said when met at Hunza Properties Berhad booth.
Maria said she was looking for a property that is between 700sq ft and 1,000sq ft.
“If I do purchase a property, it would be the first home that I own.”
For freelancer Louis Tan, 30, securing a property was a good investment plan for the future.
“I am still looking around for that property.
“Having a property to your name is good as its value only appreciates over time,” he added.
