Confusion over one-way road trial leads to congestion in Kepong Baru

Residents are upset over indiscriminate parking which is causing congestion along the now one-way Jalan Bangau in Kepong Baru.

RESIDENTS and business owners around Jalan Bangau have to put up with traffic congestion after Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) implemented a scheduled one-way road trial last week.

The congestion, which starts as early as 7am, stretches from Jalan Mergastua to Jalan Bangau due to the busy Kepong Baru market.

Residents are unable to leave their homes due to the congestion and irresponsible motorists who park in front of houses.

Kepong Community Centre head Yee Poh Ping said 93% of the residents and business owners had agreed with the proposal to convert Jalan Bangau and Lorong Bangau 2 into one-way roads.
