FINDING used needles in domestic waste may be a more common thing than finding a needle in a haystack, but the danger needs to be tackled seriously.

Penang Agriculture, Agro-based Industries, Rural Development and Health Committee chairman Dr Afif Bahardin said that at present, there are about 50,000 active diabetic patients in the state and about 13% of them use insulin therapy at home, disposing of the needles after use.
