EXHIBITORS at the Perfect Livin ‘18 in Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), Kuala Lumpur, are absorbing the additional Sales and Services Tax (SST) to offer better bargains for shoppers.
“It will be the best time for houseowners to shop, plus there is a wide array of attractive deals and home solutions awaiting houseowners,” said Jason Yap, director of i.Star Ideas Factory Sdn Bhd, the organiser of Perfect Livin.
“We had the same experience during the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and it is natural that people are more cautious with their spending.
“However, at Perfect Livin, we are working together with exhibitors to lock down prices of home products.
“Some of the exhibitors are willing to lower their prices during the four-day exhibition,” added Yap.
The four-day flagship home expo is being held until tomorrow.
Visitors can expect to see discount posters and price tags with the words “Price lock” or “No SST” displayed at exhibition booths.
Elba promoter Leong Pik Jing said SST would not affect the prices of their products sold at the expo as the items were ordered before SST kicked in.
“On top of that, we are giving up to 40% discount on various product packages,” she said.
Beyond Arena sales manager Patrick Tan said the company was absorbing the SST charges and was featuring some of the latest line-up.
“We are offering up to 40% discount on selected products.
“For example, we are selling a set of Rieber kitchen wash basin and KWC kitchen tap at RM3,489,” he said.
Sales manager Danny Chin, 45, said the prices offered were very competitive.
“I am looking for CCTV units and it is very difficult to decide on which one to buy as there is a wide variety with different features,” he said.
Retail manager Michelle Tan, 34, said the exhibition gave her a lot of ideas on decorating her living room.
“There are a lot of innovative and creative layouts for the living room to choose from. The many exhibitors helped a lot in offering interior design suggestions,” she said.
Myriads of activities and offers are also available throughout the exhibition.
