THE Penang Irish Association (PIA) is in need of sponsors for its 10th Luscious Ladies in Shades of Pink fundraising event next month.
The event on Oct 5 at Eastern & Oriental Hotel to raise breast cancer awareness hopes to see RM50,000 raised from sales of tickets besides corporate and product donations.
PIA president and event organising chairperson Maggie Territt said products donated will be used as door gifts and in a raffle and silent auctions.
“This could be the biggest event of its kind in the country with about 300 people expected to turn up, and there will also be talks on cancer, sharing by survivors and a fashion show by 24 models.
“We will also be having a raffle draw and silent auction sessions to raise RM50,000 for the Mount Miriam Cancer Hospital and Penang Hospice Society.
“Product donations such as meal vouchers, jewellery, art, handbags and beauty products are welcome,” she said.
Maggie added that tickets to the event are priced at RM100 each, which includes a buffet brunch.
PIA will also set up a Pink Fund throughout the month of October to accept donations which will be presented to the hospital and hospice centre later.
Since 2009, PIA has raised over RM400,000 to help those in need.
