Open sky policy will improve rural air connections


Rural Sarawak needs more airlines with small planes like this MasWing aircraft to offer more regular flights daily.

MIRI: It is high-time for Sarawak to have an open-sky policy for not just urban flight services but also rural air services, said the Rurum Kelabit Association that represents the 10,000 odd minority Kelabit ethnic natives.

Rurum Kelabit Miri chairman Dick Bala said that the Federal Transport Ministry seems ready to consider giving Sarawak an open-sky policy for flights.
