ONE of the best ways to combat the menace of serious health threats among children is to teach them the importance of hygiene.
With this in mind, Antabax introduced the Always Be Clean (ABC) campaign in partnership with R.E.A.L Kids. With the support of the Health Ministry, this campaign is to create awareness among preschoolers and
parents on current health threats.
According to the ministry, there was a spike in the number of HFMD (Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease) cases between January and August this year with 55,391 reported cases nationwide, an increase of 127% or 30,993 compared to 2017 which saw 24,398 reported cases.
“This is a really good programme, and we are always looking forward to such collaborations with strategic partners where it can benefit our students.
“We want our children to learn and know the importance of cleanliness, hygiene and avoid harmful diseases,” said R.E.A.L Education Group Sdn Bhd chief operations officer Kenny Sim.
Antabax will be contributing its products including hand soaps, bar soaps, shower creams, and antibacterial sprays, gels and wipes), all of which can kill 99.9% of germs.
Lam Soon Edible Oils Sdn Bhd general manager Francis Ng Lee thanked the ministry and R.E.A.L. kids for the partnership and chance to host the campaign.
“ABC health campaign will be going into preschools to educate children how to
minimise the chances of getting infected,” Lee said.
This programme will involve the R.E.A.L Kids preschools and schools while Antabax is sharing health tips on reducing HFMD’s spread on its social media platforms. — By RITHA AKARIZA
