Implementation of SST under watch


JOHOR BARU: About 200 enforcement officers are actively on the ground in Johor to address issues faced by consumers following the re-introduction of the Sales and Services Tax (SST), said state Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism Ministry enforcement chief Aris Mamat.The monitoring includes checking prices of goods to avoid manipulation by businesses for profiteering.

“We have received 25 complaints since Sept 1. However, most of the complaints were made by consumers who were confused between service charge and service tax.
