THE state government is banking on AirAsia’s direct flight from Bangkok to Ipoh to attract more tourists from Thailand to the state.

State tourism, arts and culture committee chairman Tan Kar Hing said meetings were held with the budget airline to secure an agreement to start direct flights from Thailand to the Sultan Azlan Shah Airport in Ipoh.
