MOST of us living and working in the Klang Valley have grown used to the sight of heavy lorries going in and out of the many development project sites dotting the area.

However, it was under this guise that a 4ha alleged sandmining operation and dumpsite along Jalan Tasik Permaisuri 1, Cheras, has been operating for more than a year at a location within 2km from notable landmarks such as the Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium, Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and Taman Tasik Permaisuri in Cheras.
