A TOTAL of RM12,045 was raised for Perak Community Specialist Hospital (PCSH) during the “Haircut for a Greater Cause” charity event at Aeon Big Falim in Ipoh.

Organised by the PCSH Fundraising Organising Committee and Wars SB Saloon and Academy, about 400 people had their hair cut by hairstylists during the event.

Free health screenings, a blood donation drive and charity bazaar were also held at the venue.

The charity haircut raised RM8,950 while the bazaar brought in another RM3,095.

A total of 170 people went for the health screening and about 74 pints of blood were collected.

PCSH chief executive officer Nicholas Chan said he was grateful for the great response from the public.

“I always believe that together, we can make a difference in the community.

“All proceeds collected will be channelled towards the upgrading of facilities and services in PCSH to enable it to continue providing affordable quality healthcare to the community,” he said.

Those interested in helping to raise funds for PCSH can call 012–505 3851 (Kit Ting), 017-520 0028 (Christine) or 012-510 0102 (Bonnie).
