WATSONS’ members will feel “syok” (excited) as the flagship health and beauty retailer is back with special sales, rewards, promotions and deals to mark the Watsons card eighth anniversary celebrations.
The retailer is giving away discounts to show its appreciation and thank loyal customers.

Under the #watsonsrewards programme, Watsons cardholders can enjoy the Members Syok Sale with up to 50% discount for selected products at all Watsons stores nationwide and online, from Sept 4 to Oct 1 for peninsular Malaysia and Sept 13 to Oct 8 for Sabah and Sarawak.
As a bonus, Watsons members who spend RM50 and above will get Syok Coupons worth RM500.
This year, Watsons has partnered with Mazda, and two lucky members will walk away with a brand new Mazda CX-5 in the Switch.Save.Win Mazda CX-5 contest.
Members who register their cards and spend RM50 and above on Watsons participating brands will be eligible to take part in the contest from Sept 4 to Nov 1.

At the Watsons card anniversary celebration held at Sunway Pyramid, Watsons Malaysia managing director Caryn Loh said they now have five million card members. The card was launched in 2010.
“Watsons Malaysia has achieved another milestone by celebrating our Watsons card eighth anniversary.
“Our customer loyalty programme continues to grow and innovate throughout the years where the benefits of the membership offers special in-store promotions, discounts and deals as well as a Watsons lifestyle experience of its own,” said Loh.
She said they collaborated with Touch ‘n Go in 2013 for their customers’ convenience during their travelling.
Loh said Watsons also introduced another life-time membership card called Elite in early 2018 for its customers, which is a premium rewards programme that provides exclusive privileges and activities. Those who spend RM1,000 in a year are qualified to be Elite members.

“Elite card members who shop online for the first time at Watsons will enjoy free delivery and they will be invited to attend special events,” she said.
Other benefits of the Watsons Elite membership include earning 5x points when purchasing any Watsons brand products where they can also get 10x points when they make their first purchase at any Watsons store during their birthday month as well as enjoying special monthly promotions available. Loh said currently they had 100,000 Elite card members.
“We have partnered with Mazda this year as it personifies the brand,” she said, adding that each Mazda worth RM160,000 would be given away to two lucky members in the contest promotion.
Loh expects a bigger performance for the retailer this year and they want to reward their customers for their continuous loyalty.
“We will expand our number of stores. There are 470 Watsons stores in Malaysia,” she said, adding that they plan to set up between 10 to 20 branches each year.
“It will depend on location, retail landscape and the Malaysian economy.”
She added that there were over 10,000 products being sold at Watsons, while 1,000 were exclusively Watsons products.

Loh said they have partnered with 2,000 merchant locations to offer better rewards to customers that included dining at restaurants and promotions at health and lifestyle stores.
Watsons Malaysia customer director Danny Hoh said they introduced a new virtual Watsons card for its members to enjoy instant rewards while shopping at its stores without carrying the physical card.
Hoh said they would also organise a #GetActive Fest on Oct 27 in Setia Alam with various activities.
“There will be yoga in the park and Zumba, and other fitness challenges, cooking workshops, family fun games and food bazaar,” he said.
Tickets will be on sale in Klang Valley stores from Sept 4 onwards at RM30 each which includes a T-shirt, drawstring bag, silicone band, RM10 Watsons vouchers and activities participation.
The other highlights for the celebration include a welcome gift of a Watsons voucher worth RM300, reward treats and coupons worth RM5,000 and other Watson benefits awaits new members who sign-up for the Watsons card.
Watsons also presents “All Things Girl” in collaboration with Astro “Wah Lah Toi” TV show featuring top Hong Kong TVB artistes to update their female customers on the latest trends and happenings in beauty and health care and relevant women’s lifestyle issues, which will be aired on Oct 7.
Meanwhile, TV3 sports presenter Hasnida Hanim Ahmad Kamil won 40,000 points worth RM200 when she participated in the #WatsonsSyokRewards contest, where the participant was required to show the SyokRewards coupon and upload a photo of the event on their Facebook page.
An energetic Zumba performance by six people launched the celebration at the shopping mall.
