‘Apply system requiring contractors to have safety training’

PRIVATE firms and government agencies are urged to implement the Contractor Safety Passport System (CSPS) to ensure that their contractors and employees have basic knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) before entering the work premises.

National Institute of Occupatio-nal Safety and Health (Niosh) chairman Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye said the implementation of CSPS would require contractors to send their employees for OSH training before they could deal with private firms or government agencies that have adopted the system.
