THERE is a perception that local councillors in Selangor appointed under the non-governmental organisation (NGO) quota are aligned to political parties in Pakatan Harapan, and are not genuinely involved in social work.

This is because 25% of the 288 councillors in Selangor are appointed into the 12 local councils for the 2018-2020 term as recommended by the various political parties in the coalition government.
