COUNCILLOR Wong Siew Ki has declined to comment on whether she would be the potential candidate for DAP in the upcoming Balakong by-election.
“I’m sorry, but I cannot comment on this for now. Please wait for the official announcement from DAP tomorrow (Aug 14),” said Wong when contacted, following speculation that she could be a likely candidate for the seat.
Wong, 32, has been serving as a councillor for the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) since 2016.
She is in charge of the Residents Committee (JKP) Zone 21, which covers parts of Serdang and Seri Kembangan.
Prior to her appointment as councillor, she worked as a political secretary to Seri Kembangan assemblyman Ean Yong Hian Wah since 2013.
A long-time resident of Seri Kembangan, Wong is also a documentary filmmaker who got into politics out of a desire to play a more active role in changing society for the better.
