ACER fans will be moving to the beat this August and September as the brand brings back its much-anticipated Acer Day.
The campaign is set to drum up much hype and excitement with attractive promotions, gifts and prizes until Sept 30.
Themed “Play Music Together”, Acer Day 2018 draws inspiration from the belief that music is the best language that transcends borders and race.
Acer Sales and Services Sdn Bhd products, sales and marketing general manager Chan Weng Hong said they hope to interact with people around the world through music.
“We believe that music is the best language that can bring people, regardless of creed or colour, together. We wish to close the gap with our consumers through the Acer Day campaign.
“This event is in its second year, and is even bigger as it is held concurrently with 20 countries across the Pan-Asian region, as we celebrate this campaign together,” he said in his speech.
Acer Day was first introduced in 2017 as a company’s regional promotional event, with the aim of building a “Young, Technology and Stylish” brand image to appeal to the younger crowd.
“Acer Day 2017 recorded a huge success and was well-received by the public with a 7% year-on-year growth in revenue in the third quarter of 2017.
“It generated over seven million clicks on the campaign video across social networking sites, and over 2,500,000 page views on the microsite,” said Acer Pan Asia Pacific president Andrew Hou.
He added that they would continue to invest in Acer Day while broadening its scope so the annual event would become the most representative annual campaign.
The Acer Day 2018 launch was held in Mid Valley Megamall, Kuala Lumpur, where it was attended by the media and guests.
Aside from the performances by girl group Amoi-Amoi and local heart-throbs Fuying & Sam, much to the elation of fans who came to watch, the media also took part in music activities.
Acer also took to launching and unveiling three special models that will make the hearts of gadget enthusiasts gallop with excitement.
The Predator Helios 300 Special Edition is every gamer’s dream, with enhanced specs in its distinctive white aluminium chassis accented with gold trim.
With only 50 units available in Malaysia, it features an upgraded 144Hz refresh rate, 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor and overclockable NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics.
Priced at RM6,199, the Predator Helios 300 Special Edition comes with a Predator gaming backpack, earphones, gaming mouse and white mouse pad, and is available mid-August at Acer Official Online Stores and authorised Predator Partners nationwide.
On the other hand, professionals can look forward to the new and elegant looking Acer Swift 7, dubbed to be the world’s thinnest laptop with powerful performance at only 8.98mm.
Powered by a 7th Gen Intel Core processor and an 8GB of LPDDR3 memory, the laptop has up to 10 hours of battery life, built-in 4G LTE connectivity and features fingerprint recognition to allow a password-free and more secure sign-in.
Customers who purchase the laptop will receive a protective sleeve, a USB Type C to HDMI adapter and USB Type A adapter; it is priced at RM6,399.
The Acer Switch 7 Black Edition is said to be the world’s first fan-less two-in-one laptop equipped with discrete graphics as it adopts Acer’s proprietary Dual LiquidLoop fanless cooling technology.
Priced at RM6,999, the laptop’s versatile design offers flexibility both as a laptop and a tablet with full PC functionality, weighing less than 1.15kg when the keyboard is detached.
The two-month long Acer Day 2018 “Play Music Together” festivities will allow the public to take part in daily online challenges to collect points and a chance to win attractive prizes, including a 4D/3N trip for two to Taiwan, Predator Helios 300, Swift 5 and Iconia Tab 10.
