BANDAR Rimbayu recently organised the #RunWithMe2018 initiative for the fourth time, all in the name of fun, friendship and sportsmanship.
More than 2,500 people took part in the event, making it a successful celebration of togetherness with friends and family.
Flagged off at 6.30am at The Arc, Bandar Rimbayu’s show gallery, participants experienced a more glamorous side to running thanks to the 10km event’s Hollywood theme.
Putting aside the competitive edge of speed and time, the main objective of the run was to inspire locals to lead a healthy lifestyle while having fun.
Positive vibes and togetherness were evident during the warm-up Zumba session and when Hollywood cosplayers cheered on the runners.
Accompanying the participants throughout the run was a percussion band.
Hollywood cosplayers added excitement to the run as they cheered participants on.
At water stations inspired by famous Hollywood characters, participants chatted animatedly with one another as they took a breather.
Bandar Rimbayu senior general manager Chai Kian Soon said, “Run With Me has become a go-to event in the country and the overwhelming response this time gives us more motivation to come up with something more unique and special every year.
“Not only that, we always see people from our previous events joining in the fun,” he added.
The participants each received a complimentary Puma jersey and a unique finisher’s medal that reflects the Hollywood theme.
They also had the chance to win a total of 29 lucky draw prizes worth up to RM20,000.
One young participant said, “I am a runner and I have joined many running events in the past.
A father of two was not slowed down despite running with strollers.
“However, many here should agree that there are not many which emphasise on fun. This is a great initiative by Bandar Rimbayu and I’ll definitely bring my friends along to join next year.”
After the run, the participants and members of the public were invited to join in Bandar Rimbayu’s Hari Raya open house at The Arc, Bandar Rimbayu.
Visitors savoured mouthwatering festive delicacies and enjoyed a special performance by Sharizan Borhan, an a capella by the Colours of Voice boy band and traditional Malaysian dances.
