50 developers earn honours

THE Property Insight Prestigious Developer Awards (PIPDA) 2018 witnessed more than 50 award winners taking to stage.

The dinner night also culminated with over 600 guests attending the glitzy event at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

Present as guest of honour was Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin.

“This year, we received more than 120 nominations.

“The theme of PIPDA 2018 is ‘Recognising Excellence’ which incidentally also represents the fourth edition of the awards that was created with the aim of recognising outstanding developers and development,” said Property Insight magazine founder and managing director Datuk K.K. Chua.

Among the developers who received the awards were MRCB, Mah Sing, OSK, UMLand, Putrajaya Holdings, IJM and Sunway.

LBS Bina Group Bhd group managing director Tan Sri Lim Hock San (below) received five awards including recognition as one of the country’s “Top Ten Developers”

For the first time, the personal recognition awards went to Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association Malaysia (Rehda) president Datuk FD Iskandar, who received the Industry Excellence Award, while Tan Sri Mustapha Kamal was awarded for his corporate social responsibility contributions under Yayasan Emkay.

“PIPDA represents the culmination of the passion of industry players as we each play a significant and important role in the continuity of excellence in the industry, especially in this new Malaysia where hopes are renewed,” said Chua.

An illustrious panel of judges went through the nominations based on four criteria – track record, concept, building design and value creation.
