New alternate chairmen brimming with plans

WITH the new Penang Island City councillors sworn in, alternate chairmen have been chosen to head various committees under the council.

Councillor Tan Seng Keat, who has been named MBPP Infrastructure and Traffic Committee alternate chairman, said his aim would be to extend the removal of obstructions and hazards along five-foot ways in the George Town World Heritage Site area to other areas on the island.
