Sibu council gets tough on abandoned vehicles


Several vehicles left abandoned at Jalan Ulu Sungai Merah in Sibu and have become eyesores.

SIBU: The Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) will be issuing strict notices to owners of abandoned vehicles dumped in public places to remove them within 14 days.

Speaking at a council meeting, chairman Datuk Tiong Thai King said the council has to act as it has received numerous complaints from the public regarding the nuisances caused by abandoned vehicles.
