Surplus funds from CNY do given to the needy

THE organiser of the Penang Chinese New Year Celebration 2018 gained a surplus of RM48,572 which has since benefitted 15 welfare groups and schools.

The team led by Penang Chinese Clan Council executive secretary Susan Kwoh Shoo Chen spent only RM199,352 on the event after securing RM247,924 from public donations and stall rentals.
