Involve the community as it is their right

KUCHING: The amendment to the Sarawak Land Code involving native customary rights (NCR) such as pemakai menoa and pulau galau must be made public before it is tabled in the upcoming state legislative assembly sitting.

Society of the Rights of Indigenous People of Sarawak (Scrips) legal advisor Henry Joseph Usau said the natives have a right to know the changes to the definition of pemakai menoa (territorial domain) and pulau galau (communal reserve) under the NCR to ensure there was consensus among all native communities in Sarawak.
