Elaborate showcase of tradition and culture at state-level Gawai Dayak Parade

KUCHING: Men dressed as tribal warriors and women in beautiful traditional costumes and regalia coloured up the streets of the city centre in celebration of the state-level Gawai Dayak parade, which makes a return after 24 years.

Some 3,000 Dayak of various ethnic groups representing over 100 contingents including non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and various associations took part in the striking Gawai procession called niti daun.
