VOLUNTEERS from Sime Darby Property Bhd and Yayasan Sime Darby (YSD) embarked on a Ramadan Festive Assistance Initiative at Kampung Orang Asli, Sungai Melut in Sepang.
Forty volunteers comprising Sime Darby Property and YSD employees distributed food, drinks and books to 70 orang asli Temuan families. Volunteers also spent time conducting reading and colouring sessions with the children.
The activity was part of Sime Darby Property’s Employee Volunteering Programme under YSD’s Ramadan Festive Assistance Initiative.
The initiative is a month-long programme aimed at adopting selective underprivileged communities and providing them with sustainable livelihood through temporary direct assistance such as volunteers, food, household items, books and clothing as well as empowerment and/or skills.
