TWO well-known Hong Kong artistes were roped in to celebrate the grand opening of real estate company Taras Properties Sdn Bhd at Cheras Centrepoint in Medan Connaught, Cheras.
The presence of TV actor Derek Kok as well as 2001 Miss Hong Kong pageant contest winner and actress Shirley Yeung thrilled guests, who welcomed the duo with loud cheers.
A lively lion dance performance also kept guests entertained.
Kok praised Malaysia for its good air quality and expressed his interest to own a home here if there was a chance to do so.
Yeung echoed his views, saying she would also buy a property here if she had the opportunity, noting that houses prices in Hong Kong were higher than in Malaysia.
Taras Properties founder and director Kenzi Chan said he hoped to offer a better environment for real estate agents and let them enjoy more profits.
“I am excited and a bit nervous over this, but we plan to open one or two more branches in the country,” he said.
Currently, Chan said the company had 200 real estate agents, who operate in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Baru and Penang.
“We sell all types of houses at various locations. The GDV (gross development value) for the houses sold last year was RM500mil,” said Chan, who comes with eight years of experience as a property agent.
In elaborating, he said the company was involved in more than 20 property projects in Klang Valley last year.
“This year, we aim to get more homeowners in Cheras to invest in more properties,” he added.
Chan said the company would work hard to attract more foreign home buyers under the Malaysia My Second Home project this year.
“We will cooperate with overseas agents to promote Malaysia and get them buy to houses here,” he said, adding that more events would be organised to achieve the goal.
“Last year, we invited 200 guests from Hong Kong, China and Singapore to attend the opening of the showrooms for various housing projects in Klang Valley,” he said.
Among the guests at the event were Astro Classic Golden Melody third runner-up and NSR Music singer Amy Chan as well as social media influencers Ziah Chang and Willie Lau.
