State government says, as Sukma host, safety of cyclists take priority

THE state government will remain firm on its decision to cancel six track cycling events from the Malaysia Games (Sukma) following a meeting with the chief secretary of the Youth and Sports Ministry.

In a strongly worded statement, State Youth, Sports and Human Capital Development Committee Chairman Howard Lee Chuan How said the safety of athletes is the highest priority and the state government has the final say as the host and organiser of the games.
