MOTORISTS crossing Penang Bridge from the mainland were surprised when they each received a set of The Light Hotel’s signature nasi briyani with chicken.
They also received a box of bubur lambuk for buka puasa.
A total of 11 chefs in the five-star hotel in Seberang Jaya had prepared 1,000 sets of meals for buka puasa to be distributed as part of the hotel’s ‘Giving and Sharing’ programme for the festive season.
Hotel chairman Azhar Mohammad said this was the first time the hotel was collaborating with PLUS Malaysia for this programme.
“We feel a strong sense of responsibility towards our surrounding and society.
“We prepared 75kg of nasi briyani, 128kg of chicken and 18kg of bubur lambuk for the programme.
“Twenty of our employees worked round the clock to get the meals ready for the public,” he said.
Azhar was joined by the hotel’s Penang general manager Raj Kumar and PLUS Malaysia Bhd managing director Datuk Azman Ismail.
