TRAFFIC congestion along Jalan Sungai Ujong in Seremban will be reduced following the opening of the new northbound Seremban toll plaza along the North-South Expressway.

With the opening of the new plaza, motorists coming from Seremban 2, Bandar Seri Sendayan and Bukit Kepayang will no longer need to stop at a junction to turn right and get across the busy Jalan Sungai Ujong to enter the old northbound toll plaza anymore.

The opening of a RM12mil access slip road leading to the new toll plaza will also provide convenience to some 18,000 daily users.

Mentri Besar Aminuddin Harun officially opened the new exit recently and presented goodies to motorists.

Also present were Works Ministry deputy secretary-general Datuk Abdul Razak Jaafar, Malaysia Highway Authority director-general Datuk Ismail Md Salleh and PLUS managing director Datuk Azman Ismail.

Construction of the new 1.3km slip road began in January last year and it was completed on May 31 this year.

The new toll plaza will have three lanes including one for SmartTAG users and one for Touch ‘n Go.
