AN 18-year-old student has made Malaysia proud after her composition was played during the prestigious Piazza di Siena International Horse Show in Rome, Italy, recently.

The piece, composed by Aissa Maryam Sufian, was chosen to accompany the “San Raffaele Viterbo Carousel” showpiece.

The horses featured in the performance are trained to help individuals with disabilities at the San Raffaele Viterbo Rehabilitation Center.

The facility uses cutting-edge technology and methodology to rehabilitate individuals with disabilities, helping them to live independently.

“I hope my accomplishment will encourage people to never give up, and to know that no matter who you are, you can find a way to contribute to the world and realise your dreams,” said Aissa.

Aissa is a student at the Nexus International School in Putrajaya.

She was trained by Sonia Jones from London, a vocal coach who has worked with singers such as Rihanna, Justin Bieber and Rita Ora.

The Piazza di Siena International Horse show is an annual event that draws big-name sponsorship and is attended by many notable Italian and international celebrities.
