SUNWAY Group kickstarted its month-long community outreach project, the ‘#sunwayforgood Raya Cheer 2018’ by distributing its award-winning special bubur lambuk in conjunction with the Ramadan month.

The group distributed over 800 containers of bubur lambuk at the Kapitan Keling Mosque in George Town, Penang.

Sunway Hotel George Town and Seberang Jaya general manager Prakash Kumaran said the programme was not new for Sunway.

“We have received great feedback for this event. There are 40 volunteers from Sunway Property Penang, Sunway Hotel Seberang Jaya, Sunway Hotel Georgetown Penangand Sunway Carnival Mall involved in this project.

“We also distributed 800 containers of bubur lambuk at the Seberang Jaya Mosque in Seberang Prai on Monday,” he said at the Kapitan Keling Mosque.

Prakash said in total, Sunway Group distributed 4,000 containers of bubur lambuk to the community in Penang and Kuala Lumpur.

“We would like to thank the Seberang Jaya Mosque and Kapitan Keling Mosque for their willingness to partner with us for this bubur lambuk sharing session where ‘Sunwayians’ can take the opportunity to get to know the community better.

“The bubur lambuk distribution is part of the ‘#sunwayforgood Raya Cheer 2018’ community outreach project which aims to reach 4,500 people in 13 locations across Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Penang during Ramadan to spread festive joy leading up to the upcoming Raya celebrations,” he said.

State exco member Dr Afif Bahardin, who was the event’s guest of honour, said the project was a good initiative by Sunway Group.

“This is part of the Ramadan spirit for us to give back to the society regardless of race and religion,” he said.
