JOHOR BARU: Universiti Teknologi Malaysia’s (UTM) Career Carnival 2018 and MyCareer @ MOHE was a crowd-puller, offering more than 8,000 job opportunities for job seekers.

The university’s deputy vice-chancellor (student affairs) Prof Dr Durrishah Idrus said 61 organisations took part in the two-day carnival in April.

“Besides providing a platform for students to find jobs, this programme is a bridge for employers to find suitable and qualified employees through exhibitions, career talks and recruitment sessions,” she said during the opening ceremony of the fair which was officiated by the Higher Education Ministry deputy director-general Prof Dr Noor Azizi Ismail.

She said the objective of organising the fair was to provide students the opportunity to find suitable employment.

“This annual event is known to benefit job seekers, as well as those seeking internships.

“Through this carnival, the network employment information between UTM and the various industries will be strengthened,” she said.

Durrishah said the university students could get information about careers and be prepared for future challenges.

She said based on statistics, the carnival drew an increased number of participants every year.
