PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar continued her family’s legacy by winning the Permatang Pauh parliamentary seat with a majority of 15,668 votes.
The 38-year-old received 35,534 votes to beat Barisan Nasional's Datuk Mohd Zaidi Mohd Said who obtained 19,866 votes and PAS’ candidate Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden who secured 14,428 votes.
