SEEING politics improving people’s life in her younger days has motivated the first woman parliamentary candidate in Tanjong to join the Gerakan party.

Barisan Nasional candidate Datuk Ng Siew Lai, 57, who is from Permatang Pauh, said that when she was in her 20s, she wrote to the state government to request better roads, power and water supply for her village.
