THE election season is the best time for Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng to come clean on the Penang undersea tunnel project, said Parti Cinta Malaysia (PCM) vice-president Datuk Huan Cheng Guan.
“The people of Penang, especially in Bagan, would like to know the relationship between the ‘Datuk Seri’ involved in the case and the Chief Minister.
“Lim has been evading the issue for far too long and people deserve the truth,” he said at a press conference in Butterworth.
A man with the title Datuk Seri was arrested in March by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission for allegedly receiving RM19mil to help ‘settle’ a probe into the controversial RM6.34bil undersea tunnel.
“Whatever happened to the ‘Competency, Accountability and Transparency’ slogan?” Huan asked.
He also denied that PCM was part of Gagasan Sejahtera.
“We are only PAS-friendly or ‘rakan mesra’ as we are an independent party using our own name in the election,” he added.
