A tale of two political rallies in Sekinchan

WHILE Barisan Nasional held a concert on Jalan Haji Ramli in Sekinchan with food and lucky draws thrown in for good measure, Pakatan Harapan held a talk five minutes' walk away without food or gifts.

The two political events were divided by just two lanes, and yet surprisingly, the noises from the two sides on Monday night did not clash.

Both events were attended by many residents, but the crowd that filled up the street in front of the DAP office in Jalan Menteri (pic below) was noticeably larger.

Among the speakers at the Pakatan talk was Perak DAP chairman Nga Kor Ming, who is contesting the parliamentary seat of Teluk Intan in Perak.

As usual, Nga’s fiery speech drew a lot of cheering and reaction from the crowd.

The other speakers were DAP deputy chairman Gobind Singh Deo, national publicity secretary Tony Pua, assistant national publicity secretary Yeo Bee Yin, and former Selangor executive councillor Teng Chang Khim.

On Barisan’s end, Sungai Besar Umno division chief Datuk Seri Jamal Yunos said the concert was a platform for them to introduce the three candidates for the general election and a way to be close to the people.

Among the artists performing were Datuk Nash, Azlee Senario, Abon, Accapan, Angeline Tan and Sathiya.
