Trees felled by sudden storm in Bukit Damansara

Trees felled on Jalan Beringin, Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur and blocked the road.

BUKIT Damansara was hit by perhaps the most serious incident of tree-fall due to a downpour in the area today.

The sudden storm which occurred between 3pm to 4.30pm felled several trees and blocked parts of the road.

A construction notice board along Jalan Setiakasih was damaged due to the strong winds and fallen tree branches.

The main road, Jalan Beringin, was also blocked by a huge fallen tree, while twigs and leaves were scattered on several roads.

Resident Chakaravarthi Vallipuram, 78, who lived along in Bukit Damansara for 25 years described the storm as the most serious ever.

“This is the first time I have seen such strong winds.

“The winds even blew the rain into the compound of my house, drenching the documents that I had laid out on a table.

“It stopped about 5pm, and it took me about one hour to clean the compound,” he said.
