‘Balik kampung‘ tour for a legend

THE Jungle Jerry Malaysia Balik Kampung Tour sees the Malaysian club legend and now Canberra-based DJ/producer hitting the nightspots to give you a taste of his unique brand of house and underground music.

With a career spanning a quarter of a century and encompassing the history of electronic music in Malaysia that includes co-founding the legendary The Backroom KL among many other clubs, Jerry has, since leaving his residencies in Asia in Sept 2008 to explore other creative avenues in Australia, landed his residencies in Canberra and Sydney and is deeply entrenched with his label Modem Music Australia.

And now, having just finished organising a two-day music festival called Loaded Laneway under Modem Music with Treehouse and Reload, he’s also formed a duo with famous producer Ted Jorgansen from Sweden to create two new monikers — Ted & Jerry and Limousine, with house and underground releases due in June, and partnering with Toma Hawk Music in Switzerland with releases this month.

Jerry hits up Privi KL, Jalan Nagasari, KL, tonight, joining the Connected Crew, before heading to Jiro KL on Monday for a special Stadium vs The Backroom KL as part of their No Sleep Til Monday Labour Day weekend parties and again on May 4 for a special Raw night with Jiro resident Aland Tand.

He ends his mini Malaysian jaunt with a special appearance playing soul, funk and house down in Johor Baru on Mayy 6 in Magnum Puteri Harbour with KBNL and TM Pulse.
